$10 · Temporary Caregiver for Elderly in Minden

Require 1 caregiver for a 2 week live-in stay in Minden, Ontario. Doesn't have to have recent healthcare experience. Does need to have recent security clearance (e.g., just left a Government job, Telephone company job, or other health care requiring clearance is fine). The couple has interests in dogs, fishing, housing issues, motorcycles, and love to do things for neighbours when able. Both are recently out of hospital. 1 recovering from surgery, 1 with severe lung health issues and hard of hearing. The applicant needs to be able to lift and move things, walk and play with an elderly dog, cook, water some plants, shovel the porch and stairs, short path to driveway, go shopping, be familiar with a water pump and propane heating. They should not need to fix the pump or heating, but if something goes wrong knowing how to turn them off and describe issues will help a ton. Somebody comes by to care for the driveway often. In case of emergency if your car is flakey, they have one. Must be able to get to Minden and to shopping. Please contact if interested. This is a low-paying job, but it is short term, allowing you to do this while looking for something else. Expenses will be covered fairly including travel to Minden. Daily living rate will be the low pay. Applicant will be expected to stay in the home as much as possible including eating with the family and hopefully have some great conversations. Work will be sporadic during the day/night. Mostly being asked to lift things. Person arranging is not in the home. NOTE: Double COVID vaccine required, lung disorder is deadly.
